The S.M.S. Emden's Exploits during
The First World War

At the commencement of the First World War in 1914, S.M.S. Emden of the Imperial German Navy operated as an independent raider in the sea lanes of the Indian Ocean.

She caused much destruction over several months, until she herself was destroyed in a battle with the HMAS Sydney of the Royal Australian Navy on the 9th November 1914.
