November 9, 1914 was an important day for two Navies.

It was the day of a Naval Battle that resulted in the defeat and destruction of the S.M.S.Emden of the Imperial German Navy, and a day that marked the first naval victory by the H.M.A.S.Sydney of the newly formed Royal Australian Navy.
