 Vilakku |
The sixth days festival had few programmes on the stage but a major day in the utsavam calender. It was the veliya vilakku day, veliya impying the grandest one. In the evening there was an aksharaslokasadassu by Akshari Aksharasloka Rangam, Ramamangalam. Also a religious prabhashanam (speech) by Brahmakumari Pankajam (BrahmaKumarees Eeshwara Vidyalayam, Kottyam). Her insightful words on Rajayogam and other doctrinal ways of living were inspiring to the audience. | |||

The evening witnessed the velia vilakku. A colourful evening filled the air with fragrance of coconut oil, agarbathis and camphor. The chendamelam peaked into its rhythmical symphony, captivating the audience alongwith. The experience of utsavam is this.... This moment of celebration, of physical presence of a spiritual power. Velia Velakku marked the end of a core of ulsavam celebrations, the daily vilakku.... Now the Pallivetta and Aarattu Remains... |
