THE BAR

The bar is unfortunately still not open. They are waiting for a certificate from the mayor or someone that will allow them to open onto the car park. There seems no reason other than it is the Canary Isles that the bar can not still be used by owners and guests.

If you are going out contact reception before you go asking for the bar to be open. Even email the mangement people at [email protected] With Puerto Colon Club Bar in the subject line. If enough people ask they might change their minds. As it is at the moment it is a club resource going to waste and it's not being open could be detrimental in any RCI guest report on the Resort.

The new people running the bar were trying to make a go of it and are finding it a bit hard. Hopefully with a presence onto the harbour they can generate enough revenue to keep going.

Let's hope that they will soon be doing their very good snacks and meals and have a large variety of beers and soft drinks. They have comfortable tables and chairs under big sun shades and the area has a nice atmosphere.

They seem willing also do breakfasts from early on the day you are leaving and make you packed lunches for days out or to the airport home. Lets hope they can soon resume.

If residents want an on resort bar however then they must patronise it.

The new people were trying very hard by stocking 1 litre, 5 litre and 8 litre bottles of drinking water at a competitive price, as well as 2 litre bottles of soft drinks and a range of canned and bottled beers and soft drinks in a chiller cabinet. For some reason people would rather lug these heavy items from the supermarket with no price advantage. The point is use it or loose it.

There is unfortunately little passing trade to help them but they hope the remodeling will give them a presence on the harbour car park side but this looks like it will take a while to materialise . The finished result we hope will ensure the people running the bar can make money at it.
