Several of you are not doing it and it takes up a great deal of the receptionist's time and the committee to reconcile them. Some we still have not managed are on the Maintenance fees page. Check if one is yours please and inform reception ASAP if it is.

Your attention is drawn to the advertised times for using the pool and hot tub.

This is not as some people think so as not to disturb other guests. It is for your safety. Outside the advertised times the hot tub and pool do timed automated backwash and self cleaning tasks and it could cause skin damage if you used the pool while this is being done. The pool man always uses gloves you will notice.

Also members and guests are putting their towels on sun beds early in the morning. This hampers the pool man doing his job, and in future they will just be collected and put in a sack for you to collect after 10.00am.

AGM

We Need Your Help

Are you a Lawyer, Builder, Financial expert, Manager or just plain Jo Public (or Josephine Public).

The owners committee has been the same people for the past 7 years and we feel it would be nice to inject some new blood and ideas. With about 800 members only 6 turned up to the AGM and we only heard from about 20 others. Now this may mean you are happy with what we are doing but a bit more support would be nice.

The next AGM is on the Monday in week 32 which is the 11th August 2008.

If you think you would like to become a full member, a co-opted member or even President or Vice President of the Committee then let the current President know you are interested. You don't have to be present at the AGM but it would be nice if you could be. Posts are up for re-election at the next AGM. Unfortunately the club can not supply accommodation at AGM time. You will have to find your own if it is not at the time you own at the resort.

The AGM does not have to be in August. It just happens current committee members are out there in August. It is also a good time for accounts etc.

If you are using your weeks at the resort a short Fax, Email or letter with your estimated arrival time at the resort would be appreciated about 14 days before your arrival

If you have a request for exchanging weeks or renting out your weeks or similar please send request to Webmaster who will include it, if he thinks it is suitable, in the members requests section.

DO YOU KNOW THE DATES FOR YOUR WEEKS ?

Over the last few years owners have been turning up outside their weeks and demanding accommodation saying they had been misinformed about their arrival dates. This is still happening unforunately.

If you are not sure of the dates for your weeks then a quick call or fax or email to the Resort Reception will verify them. There is also a weeks calendar on the clubs Yahoo Groups site; http://groups.yahoo.com/group/puertocolonclub/

Any owner who arrives outside their weeks will be offered rented accommodation if any is available at the published rates, and this is likely to be in a Studio only, and payment will required in advance before they can stay at the resort. It would also be helpful for reception if you inform them not only that you will be using your weeks but also inform them if you have banked them or that you can not make it that year. If you can not use your week(s) the resort might be able to rent them for you.

Threats to the reception staff if they do not get to stay for free will not work. They will however get free accommodation as guests of the King of Spain in the local jail for a couple of days before they are deported.

Threats to resort staff for any reason by Owners, RCI Exchange Guests or Renters will not be tolerated and the Police will be called in all cases.
