Protecting The Innocents
Note:  Due to personal circumstances, I've been unable to work on this site for a while.  I almost have things settled and will begin updating Protecting the Innocents sometime in May or June.  Please check back.  Thanks.
Protecting The Innocents was created so that animal cruelty cases and information are available to help ensure that animals who have suffered, along with the people whose lives have been affected, are given as much of an opportunity as I can provide them to receive help and assistance.

Thank you for helping the animals.

Mission Statement
Protecting the Innocents was developed to help fight animal cruelty, abuse, torture, brutalization and murder at the hands of mankind by publicizing the animals' stories and providing contact information so that the public may write to officials encouraging them to prosecute the offenders to the fullest extent of current laws.

This Web site was developed also to bring some sort of comfort to the people and families whose lives have been affected by these tragedies and who are having to endure the frustration of the legal processes in addition to attempting to manage their grief over the loss of their beloved friends and babies by assuring them that they are not alone.

A Great Animal Activist Has Died

Jerry Layne of
Animals Have Hearts, Too! and champion of Queso, the cat who was killed in Waco, Texas, has died.  Please read his memorial written by Brian M. Bryrne of Austin, Texas.
Frannie
This is our friend Nikki's little kitten.  Nikki rescued Frannie, and this is the morning after Nikki got her--at 5 weeks old and 14 ounces.  Frannie is doing great under Nikki's care and is eating like a horse.

Isn't she precious?
Please see PTI's Shelter section.  There are several shelters that need your attention.

Please read the story of Gandolf the cat, whose life was violently and tragically taken.  A reward is offered for information leading to the person(s) responsible for this crime.  Poor little Gandolf is gone but not forgotten.
Please visit our friend Kerry's Poetry page.  Her poems will definitely bring tears to your eyes.
Please visit a wonderful web site - Orlando Home for the Cats
If you're in the Orlando area and are looking for a special kitty to warm up your home and your life, please take a look at the adorable babies they have available for adoption.  They are just precious!  :-)

They also have information such as low cost spay/neuter in the area, programs for ferals, etc.

This is an all-volunteer group, and they are doing a great job!
Please visit a wonderful cat site:  KittyCatFurballs

KittyCatFurballs is a huge, fun and informative site.  It has cats, big cats, dogs, exotics, animal sounds, pet recipes, big cats lake applets and backgrounds, animal petitions, adopt-a-pet, pet health, greeting cards and more.  It's a wonderful site!
You Can Make A Difference
Please visit
amomentintimedonations
web site.

There are many charities you can donate to simply by clicking with your mouse, and they cost you nothing!  And, there are lots of other suggestions on this site of ways to help animals.

Also, you will "meet" lots of wonderful animals from tigers to monkeys.  These animals all need your help.  The monkeys are just precious and make you want to take them home with you.

Please visit this site.  It is very well done, and it is a wonderful way to help animals.
Please sign up for the Monkey Tales Newsletter.  It is a wonderful newsletter that introduces you to the residents of Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary and keeps you up-to-date on events at the sanctuary.  The newsletter is well-written and very informative.

There is so much animal cruelty, neglect and abuse, and we need to think about all species of animals.  Monkeys are adorable little things.  When you look at the photographs on the Sanctuary's Web site, the little babies' eyes just make you melt.  I hope you will sign up for the newsletter so you can learn more about them and how they came to be at the sanctuary.  To sign up, please email:

And, please tell a friend about PTI.

By doing so you can bring more traffic to PTI and more help for the animals, and there are *so* many of them who need our help.

Thank you.
