            . . . speaking out for those who can't

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

"One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a child is to kill or torture an animal and get away with it."

Quotes from Margaret Mead.  When she died in 1978, she was the most famous anthropologist - one who studies human behavior and culture - in the world.

Employee changes the world of many with one thoughtful action!!

This past year, an anonymous employee alerted the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that the General Motors (GM) plant where she worked was allowing maintenance crews to trap and drown "nuisance" animals, i.e. otters, raccoons and coyotes.  PETA sent a letter of protest to the President and CEO of General Motors and contacted attorneys to bring suit against GM for animal cruelty if they did not agree to halt this method of wildlife removal.  In less than two months, GM agreed to stop drowning nuisance wildlife, and instead begin humanely trapping and releasing them.  This employee, through her one thoughtful action - changed the world for many animal lives.

You can be a heroic and inspirational voice for animals!  If you witness, or suspect, animal cruelty and live in the Dallas, TX area, you can complete an online report you may remain anonymous.  The information will be reported directly to the Animal Cruelty Division of the Humane Society of Greater Dallas.

Margaret Mead was a world-renowned anthropologist.  She knew that the only thing that had ever changed the world was a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens.  Who says one persons actions dont matter?  One anonymous General Motors employee was just like you or I she most likely felt that she could not change the world, or even her local community - but by her one simple action, she changed the fate of many furred lives and the only world THEY knew.  The actions of this one person DID matter it mattered to them.

YOUR ACTIONS DO MATTER  . . .  every time you speak out for those who cant.

Come back often!  More animal success stories to follow maybe the next one will be yours.  I hope that the stories you read here stories of average folks like you and I will inspire you to become a heroic and inspirational voice for animals in your community.  The next time you see animal cruelty, suffering or neglect remember, your actions will matter.  It will matter . . to them.

May we each be granted the courage to change the things we can.
