Heaven Sent

When an animal dies, it's for a reason.

Our loan from God has run its season.

These precious gifts are

needed elsewhere.

Our lesson here is we must share.

The joy they've given, the love so true,

Is it any wonder we feel so blue?

We should feel blessed, for that we are.

For God loaned us his shining stars.

The time has come to let them go,

Although we know we'll miss them so.

This loss we feel will break our hearts,

We can't accept that we must part.

So here we are on that fated day,

But have they really gone away?

Look to the sky and choose a star,

You'll know exactly where they are!

Better to have loved…...

You remember the excitement you felt, the plans you made.

The joy that surged through your body at the thought of all the wonderful things you would do with your pet?.

Even though you did not have this little bundle yet, you knew how it would be.

You would be best friends.

Looking back, your time with your pet, far exceeded your expectations.

The unconditional love, the understanding, the sense of fun.

Let’s be honest, has anyone ever been that happy to see you,
20 times a day!

They say ‘all good things must come to an end', but WHY?

Not this... Dear God, not now.

As much as you deny the reality, that day comes, and you think your heart will break.

NO…. you are sure it has!!

When will the empty feeling go away?

When will you stop looking for that adorable face in familiar places?

Probably never, you just get better at hiding it. Why hide it?

Because people will think you are a sentimental fool, ...Really?

Then why is it that everyone reading this, is shedding a tear ?

Because we all understand what it is like to

love and be loved in that special way!!

Think about it.. would you trade even one second of the time you spent together??

Of course not.. Never..

And the feeling was more than mutual.

Think of your memories as treasure, if you can do that, you are rich beyond compare.

Each and every one of them are special, irreplaceable.

There will never be another quite like 'Flynn'.

'Mia' could never be replaced!

Your heart has the ability to keep one close, even though they are gone.

Your heart still has room for another that needs your love.

Don't be afraid to give your love.

Rather.. be afraid of never again having that special bond, that wonderful companionship, that unconditional love.

You now have your very own shining star, your special Guardian Angel.

Your angel wants you to be happy, to love and be loved again.

You know your guardian angel, and he is watching over you with loving, gentle knowing eyes.

Until you are reunited, he waits for you in EDEN.

In loving memory of 'Flynn' & 'Mia'

Always With You

by K. A. Parmenter

I walk beside you every day, just like in the past.

I watch you do the same old things, only these days not as fast.

I see and feel your sadness, I'm with you when you sleep .

The tears that flow so freely, come from memories that you keep.

I try to let you feel my presence, each and every day, .

I try to make you understand,
I haven't gone, I haven't left, I'm fine, I'm here."
But that big old cloud of sadness is always in the way.

I wish that you could understand the way it really is,
I'm never really far away, in fact I'm very near.
I try to tell you every time you brush away a tear.

You did your very best for me, I had the best of lives.

I'm gone now from our earthly home, I'm gone now from your hearth!

But one thing that will never change, I still live in your heart!

The love you gave so freely, the tender loving care,
I'm sure there's more where that come from,
more than enough to share.

Dry your eyes and look around, allow your heart to mend.
There's lot's and lot's of others,
on which your love to spend.

So very many little ones, abandoned and alone.
I know if you just knew it, you'd give them all a home.

I use to guard you with my life,. But also with my love.

The only thing that's different now, it comes from up above!

There really is a 'special place', there really is a Heaven.
On earth it was right by your side..
but now, until we meet again,
My heaven is in EDEN.

A Dog Sits Waiting

A dog sits waiting in the cold autumn sun
Too faithful to leave, too frightened to run.
She's been here for days now with nothing to do
But sit by the road, waiting for you.

She can't understand why you left her that day.
She thought you and she were stopping to play.
She's sure you'll come back, and that's why she stays
How long will she suffer? How many more days?

Her legs have grown weak, her throat parched and dry.
She's sick now from hunger, and falls with a sigh.
She lays down her head and closes her eyes.
I wish you could see how a waiting dog dies.

A Special Gift

You're giving me a special gift so sorrowfully endowed.

And through these last few cherished days, your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing when your best friend is in pain, and understanding earthly acts will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes, beyond into your soul, I see in you the magic that will once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess is why I look to you today.

To do this thing that must be done, for it's the only way.
That strength is why I've followed you and chose you as my friend.

And why I've loved you all these years, my partner 'til the end.

Please understand just what this gift you're giving means to me.

It gives me back the strength I've lost, and all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf, for that is what friends do.  And know that what you do is right for I believe it too.

So one last time I breathe your scent, and through your hand I feel the courage that's within you, to now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here dear friend and let me run, once more a strong and steady dog, my pain and struggle done.

And don't despair my passing, for I won't be far away.

Forever here, within your heart and memory I'll stay.

I'll be there watching over you, Your ever faithful friend,

And in your memories I'll run... a young dog once again.
