The Zoo Guild's Plushie Tycoon Helpers
This is a great place to learn the basics on how to operate a successful factory!
Overview of the Game
Plushie Tycoon is a complex game. You have a factory, where you purchase materials and hire workers to make plushies. Once your workers finish each job, the loads are put into your warehouse, where you have to wait for them to be loaded onto trucks. When they are finished loading, you pay to ship them to your store, where they will go on sale. Every hour during your work day, your factory and store will update how many plushies you've made or sold. When an entire load of plushies sells, then you get the profits added to your cash on hand. Build up lots of profits, and soon you too can be a Plushie Tycoon!!
Getting Started
The first thing you need to do is start your game. Go to the Plushie Tycoon game on Neopets and click the button to start up. Every player begins with 50,000np to start. The next thing you need to do is open up a factory, warehouse, and store. Once you have those opened up, you now have the option of upgrading, expanding, advertising, or purchasing materials.
Choose Your Own Time
Your plushie factory employs workers from 9am to 5pm every day, with your stats being updated at the end of each hour of work. The default time zone is Neopian Standard Time (which is the same as Pacific Time). If you want to have your factory operate from 9am-5pm in YOUR time zone, then you need to set the time to the zone you live in.

Unfortunately, not all the time zones seem to work the same. Some only seem to update one hour a day. Others only update a few hours each day. I'm sure that Neopets programmers are working to fix this in the next game, but if you have a serious problem with the time zone you picked, you may have to start your game over again. Send in a bug report or write to
[email protected] if you have problems.
Expanding
For your factory, you will not need to expand unless you want to run more than two loads at a time. In your store, you will only need to expand if you stock over 400 plushies. These two areas will automatically prompt you when an upgrade is needed. In your warehouse, expanding decreases the time it takes to load your plushies. This can be useful if you want to get your plushies to your store as quickly as possible so they can start selling. However, if you manufacture your plushies near the end of your work day, you can just let them load overnight and they will be ready to ship to your store the next morning!
Store Upgrades and Advertisements
After running several experiments, we've discovered that, in general, the more ads and upgrades you have, and the higher the level, the faster your plushies sell. However, when you are starting out, you will not be able to purchase all the ads or upgrades right away. We recommend starting with level 2 or 3 of everything but the most expensive ads or upgrades. As you earn more money, you will be able to further upgrade or buy advertisements for your shop!
Purchasing Materials
Please note: The price of each material changes every hour that the factory is operating in Neopian Standard Time! If you have your game set to a different time zone, you can still take advantage of price drops, but you have to check during 9am-5pm NST (not your time zone). For each batch of 100 plushies, you will need to purchase one to four rolls of cloth (check our list of requirements for details of the plushie you wish to make), one bag of stuffing, and one set of packing materials. Some of the plushies will also require you to purchase accessories to produce them. After extensive testing, we've discovered that making plushies with rare gem accessories and velvet bags will give you the best return for your investment. However, you really have to budget your money well to get started with these materials.
