| An enemy both old and new, A child's nightmare come true. A hero, protector, and savior all, A light to chase away the darkness. Brothers only by kinship of blood. Enemies because of love. Blood by one taken On both's hands. An innocent's eyes soiled, An angel fallen by blood boiled. The child grows, as childern must. She learns the Price of Power. Tears of fear and anger mixed Leaking down her grief-stricken face, And then she learns to hate. She forgets the good. A child's toy lies on the ground Exactly where she threw it down When she renouced her name And her power, too. Gently and filled with pain, He lifts it from where it had lain. He looks at where she's disappeared, Sadness apparent upon his face. In his soul, he knows her choice, Her opinion that goes unvioced. Though he aches with love, He helps her forget it all. His lips place a gentle kiss Upon the toy of the one he'll miss. Then leaving all behind He walks away. |
