Advice for Players

Use Teamwork
Work together with the other players. Use teamwork both in-character (such as by using group tactics which make use of the abilities of the different group members to defeat robots,) and out of character (such as by giving other players help on how to roleplay better.) Experienced roleplayers must be very careful to be patient with inexperienced roleplayers.
Teamwork should begin as early as when players are creating their characters. Collaborate to form a team of characters that won't result in anybody overshadowing anybody else.
Through all of this, remember that Psi Morphs is not a game where the other players are opponents to try to defeat. They are teammates. Treat them as such, and work together for the good of all.
Be sure to work with the GM, too. Work together with the GM and the other players to make the game fun for everybody.

Respect the Other Players
Inevitably, players are going to disagree. Respect the opinions of the other players. Don't tell another player that his/her character idea is stupid. People like different types of characters.
Of course, the players are all human, and wil all make mistakes. If somebody makes a major mistake, gently point it out and help them do better. Don't get angry about it.
Oh, and do remember that nobody is good at everything. If some players are playing poorly, don't hate them for it. Help them do better.

Be Creative
Try to create a deep character with a well-written backstory, personality, and anything else that you feel will make your character more of a work of art. You can keep it relatively simple, or you can get very complex and detailed. It's up to you. The Sample Science Descriptions page provides some visual descriptions for sciences. Perhaps reading over this page might help get your imagination going. You also might want to look at the Sample Characters. Reading the Pseudo Science page also might spark some ideas.

Balance Being Creative with Doing Well
Some roleplayers only think about how to create powerful characters, and don't give any thought to how to make their characters deep and creative. This often results in those players taking center stage in most battles, and being way more powerful than players who try to create deep, detailed characters. This is called rules abuse. Other players go too far in the opposite direction, and only give thought to what character design choices go with their character's concept and background. Such players are often disappointed to discover that their characters are ineffective and can not win battles or successfully complete missions. When creating a character, a player should choose a balanced mix of abilities which will make the character effective, and abilities which go with the character's concept and background.

Don't Expect to Get Everything Right Away
A player might not be able to get all of the basic sciences he/she wants for the character. Remember that characters gain more sciences as they level up. Each level gained results in a character gaining at least one new rank in one of the four main skill groups, and each additional rank in a main skill group allows the player to choose a new science that goes with that skill group. Reaching a milestone level involves gaining at least two new sciences. So, overtime you'll get more of the sciences you want. This way, a player has things to look foward to.

Remember that it's Just a Game
Please keep in mind that Psi Morphs is just a game. Ultimately, it's just a way to have fun and be creative. It should always be a lower priority than what is important.
