Leveling Up

A player character gains a level of experience each time he/she successfully completes 3 missions. If the GM wants a shorter campaign, he/she may decrease the number of successful missions needed for a level up. If the GM wants a longer campaign, he/she may increase the number of successful missions needed for a level up.

Each time you gain a level, you gain the following benefits:
- Additional hit points. You gain hit points equal to 10 plus half of your resilience (round up.)
- One new science (which can be from any category.)

Levels that are a multiple of 5 (5, 10, 15, etc,) are called milestone levels. Each time you reach a milestone level, you gain all of the following benefits:
- 2 points to distribute among your attributes (Agility, Dexterity, Resilience, Strength, Intelligence, Willpower.) You may either gain 2 ranks in the same attribute, or 1 each in 2 different attributes.
- One new science (in addition to the one you normally get from leveling.)
- A number of general ISPs equal to your willpower.
- You may give up 2 of your sciences, and replace them with other sciences. The replacement sciences can be from any category.

Note that increases in your ranks may result in increases to other numbers. For example, gaining a rank in resilience might give you additional hit points equal to your level (your hp becomes equal to what it would be if you had the additional point of resilience from the beginning.) So, whenever you gain a rank in something, you gain all of the benefits of that rank as though you had it since character creation.
