- GREEN FLAG - signifies the start of a race or restart after a caution.
- YELLOW FLAG - cautions drivers to slow down and hold their position
because an unsafe condition exists on the race track. Drivers may not pass
each other under yellow, but may catch up to the leader.
- RED FLAG - usually waved after a yellow flag, declares that all drivers
must come to a complete stop because of unsafe conditions, often due to an

amount of time, scoring of that particular car may be discontinued.

to move to another lane to allow a faster car to pass.
- WHITE FLAG - indicates to drivers that they have started their final lap.
- BLACK-AND-WHITE CHECKERED FLAG - means that the race has been completed.
