23/02/05 - I'm now 18! Incredibly cool. Got some family donations which have bumped up my total nicely! Thank you very much family! I hope you don't mind me using the money for PT! Also, I just got an e-mail telling me to ring my local paper about my trip so hopefully I should be in the paper in the next few weeks. Also my old primary school have offered to let me do some work experience with them in the summer and asked me to do an assembly :)
15/02/05 - Made another 20 in tips from work, and this morning I received a cheque for 100 from my local rotary club - thank you! This brings me up to 2150! I'm going to start planning some Easter events at the end of this week - Guess the eggs in the Jar, an Easter Quiz, and a Quiz night for April/May sometime. I will also have boot sales in April/May and do that "something" sponsored I keep talking about!
02/02/05 - Well, I set myself a target of reaching 2000 by the end of February (I find it helps to have little targets to work towards rather than one huge one!) and today I got donated 200! So my total is now just over 2000 and I am very happy indeed. I just need a new target now! |

23/01/05 - First update of the New Year - hope it is going well for everyone! Haven't updated for a while, but have been quite busy...so, you know! My total now stands at 1830, so thank you to everyone who has helped me out so far. On the university note, I didn't get into Oxford (ah well) but I did get into my other 5 choices, so I just need to make my decision now! I've got lots more events planned for this year, so hopefully I should reach my target. Made another 50 from Smartie tubes and tips from customers at work. Perhaps the nicest donation of the month though was from two customers at work who donated 100!
16/12/04 - Offically the Christmas season, and I'm off on holiday in a week! Going to Lanzarote. Held a raffle yesterday at my 6th form Xmas Lunch and raised 60, which I am quite proud of! So that bumps up my total a little. Also, on Monday I'm getting a cheque from the local Kiwanis, but I don't know how much for :D Still - all money is good! So fundraising is still chugging along - I'll work it out somehow! Oh, and Oxford interviews - they were ok...not brill, but ok. Might hear from Oxford in the next few days *nervousness* Oh Smartie tube wise, I made 54, and my boss Steve is giving me an extra Xmas bonus in lieu of a tube! My great-aunt has given me 10 for Xmas, which I will put towards PT, and things are quite good :D (Plus I managed to get the webpage maker working first time!)

25/11/04 - I've been having some problems getting my webpage maker to load, but it seems fine now, fingers crossed. This week has been a good week! The Herts Educational Foundation got back to me, and they've made me a grant of 350 towards my travel costs which is very helpful so thank you very much. Also, I got a cheque from another trust for 200 so thank you to them as well. AND (there's more!) I've got interviews at Oxford in2 weeks...things are looking up. Hopefully!
18/11/04 - I am waiting to hear from the Herts Educational Fund at the moment, I really hope they come through with some money! I got another donation for 50 from the people from work who said they would send me some more money, which I am very grateful for. This weekend I am counting up the money from my loose change collections and Smartie tubes and hopefully will get a good amount!
01/11/04 - Haven't updated in a while. More rejections are coming through the door, but also some suggestions and I will tackle them at the weekend! I sent off my form for the Hertfordshire Educational Foundation and they are considering my application on the 12th, so I am holding out great hopes! I had my fish and chip evening tonight (yes, it actually happened!) I made 25 from the evening itself, and then I was clearing up, and a woman came in and gave me 20 so that you very much! Ed from school won the sweets in the jar, and I am counting up the money from that this week...then I've gotta think of some more stuff to do!

19/10/04 - Not much has been happening really - big publicity drive at the moment, or at least I am attempting one! On the happier front I got 10 from some people at work today, and a promise of more to come, which is lovely. Guess the Sweets in the Jar has been going well, and should raise at least 40 - very respectable! Other than that, I received a shedload of rejection letters (and a few forms to fill in, mostly rejections though) but the tide has stopped flowing, and hopefully a few of the other 115 odd letters should yield something :) Kinda dishearting, but I will not give up hope!
09/10/04 - Links are up on the site for my buy.at site. Basically, if you buy online goods from the links given on my buy.at site (www.buy.at/projectchile) I receive a certain amount of commission, so please use this link whenever you buy online! 08/10/04 - I got my first letters back from Trusts today - a total of 4 replies. 2 negatives, 1 maybe (have to fill out forms) and 1 positive donation of 50. Hope this bodes well for future replies :)
05/10/04 - Well, most of the letters are sent out now, just gotta wait and see. I've put some leaflets out at work, and will put some at the music centre tomorrow. I got my first individual donation today - thank you Jen for your kind donation. So - the ball is rolling! So much to do - publicity is the most important thing at the moment!
01/10/04 - One whole month gone - but things are starting to move. I think. My leaflet has been printed, I'll get them on Monday, and letters sent out on Tuesday, so as soon as possible. Website is coming along - selection and photo pages added recently, so only a little more to do. Details of the fish and chip evening have been semi-finalised, and posters will soon be up for publicity. 1st of November if you're interested!
