How to Conserve Water
- Take shorter showers. Even
the average 5-minute shower can range from using 12.5 gallons to as high as 50
gallons of water, depending on your showerhead.
-Water lawns early in the morning or in the evening. During the day, when
the sun is out, a large amount of water is lost due to evaporation. When it is
cooler in the mornings of evening, less water is evaporated and stays in the
ground for your lawn.
-Flush your toilet only when you havee to. Avoid using your toilet as a
trashcan. Doing so causes you to flushing your toilet when it isn't necessary.
-Turn off the faucet when you brush yyour teeth. This can waste up to five
liters of water.
-Use a broom instead of a hose too clean your driveway and the sidewalk.
-Fix leaky faucets and pipes.
-Only run your dishwasher and washer wheen you have full loads. This requires
less water to clean a certain amount of items at once versus more water
when you clean in less than a full load.
