About Project Green Buttons
What is Project Green Buttons trying to achieve?
Project Green Buttons is working to spread
awareness on how to minimize the negative human impacts that are affecting the
earth today. On this site, there are plenty of tips that anyone can do. Even the
seemingly smallest change, such as turning off the faucet when you brush your
teeth, can go a long way.
Learn more here.
When was Project Green Buttons started?
Well, the buttons are going to be on sale in December 2008, but planning has
drawn back to the late month of October/early month of November 2008.
Where does the money I
spent on a button go?
All of the profit made from raising
funds from Project Green Buttons goes to buying the items necessary for painting
the mural for the Drought Tolerant Demonstration Garden at North High School.
The artwork on the mural will all be the North High's students' work. None of
the profit made from selling the buttons is personally kept.
How does Project Green Buttons spread awareness about these issues?
Well, each pin includes a tip on the back of it that suggests small changes
that can really make a difference. Also, the packaging that the pins come in
(which can be cut into two bookmarks-reuse!) offers 10 easy ways to minimize the
effects of that each person puts on the world. There is also a link on the
packaging that directs each supporter towards this website, where ways to
decrease your carbon footprint and to conserve water and energy.
I saw your list--I have more to add. How can I do this?
Please, please, please email me if you have more legit tips for decreasing
carbon footprint, conserving water or conserving energy. Your help is greatly
appreciated!
I want to buy a button, but I don't know where!
Find me at school, or someone who has bought one at school. If that's too
much, you can always email me; we'll make arrangements. I can't ship though. The
purchasing has to be done in person, or through someone else.
