We are a group
of 4 young professionals strongly interested in the social welfare
of our society. While Singapore has become a city of meritocracy,
we have slowly engrossed ourselves in relentless pursuits of material
wealth. Instead of lamenting Singaporeans for the lack of graciousness,
we rather think that Singaporeans have just forgoten to show the
human side that is inherent in all of us. And we want to change
that!
We see volunteerism as a good vehicle to make this difference.
We believe that volunteerism engages people to people directly
in our resulted-oriented society. Many people complained how sterile
Singapore is and the lack of anything fun to do here, and that
is precisely we want to sell the idea that volunteering is something
they can do in their free time. Thus, we brand our selves as Project
Lifestyle, as we have a common vision that Volunteerism
can be a lifestyle in Singapore.
As the first step to realizing our vision, we are taking part
in CitiYouth for
Causes organized by YMCA
of Singapore and Citibank,
which is officiated by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. For this project,
we have adopted Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) as our beneficiary
organisation. Although this project will only be from 25 Jan 03
to 25 Mar 03, we hope to be able to maintain our work as well
as replicate them across other charitable organization. More details
can be found at Projects.
