 Identifying
Split Files!
Look for *.mpeg (or *.mpg) files with part
numbers appended. Such as:
3-stooges.mpg.001 etc.You may find movie parts labelled
as:
3-stooges.001.mpg
This is NOT a split file. It is a movie that has been
divided into small playable sections. All parts are
playable without joining. A SPLITTER/JOINER program will
NOT rejoin them. If you wish to rejoin *.001.mpg files
you will need a MPEG Editing program.

Joining Split Files!
Note:These
instructions are for PC computers running Windows 9x
operating systems.

In order to join split files you will first need to
download them onto your computer. If downloading from a
web site the best way is to right click
on the file link and select 'save target as'.
Make sure that you save all of the parts in the same
folder.
If downloading from a NEWSGROUP just save all of the
parts to the same folder.
You must have the *mpg.001 file before
you can begin re-joining a movie. Having the *.mpg.000 is
also a big help. If you are using the J.A.S.
splitter/joiner program you do not need all of the parts.
It will join a movie with missing parts.
Some other splitter/joiner programs such as MasterSplitter will only join files up the first missing part. See a workaround to this problem
Previewing
Movies
You can preview the first part - (*.mpg.001) of a movie,
in order to check content and quality, before joining, by
attaching a suitable viewing program to the file type in
your computer's 'file options'. 'Click
here'
