Grants
and expertise for child sexual abuse agencies:
To support
existing public and private efforts at crisis intervention in the
medical, psychosocial and legal issues around child sexual abuse.
The Princess Trust maintains a national fund supported by a network
of experts and professionals on-call to victims, their families,
caretakers and the media. The Princess Trust network places special
emphasis on resources for the social, trauma, legal and criminal
aspects of the rape of infants under two years old.
Research
in early childhood development:
The
Princess Trust supports promising South African researchers in the
broad field of early childhood development including infant trauma-
that contribute to new knowledge on any of the following:
- understanding
the underlying causes of the crime of infant sexual assualt;
- assisting
victims, their families and communities in healing and recovery;
- ensuring
secure, stable environments for young children at risk.
The
Princess Trust solicits research proposals at any level and in any
field, and ensures that the results of Trust sponsored research
are disseminated for social empowerment and policy development.
