(PSR-000) White Suburban Trash "Kids That Like To Play Cheep Metal"
(Out of Print) The first and only LP released by the kings of Beercore, "Kids..." is an exercise in esoteric and abrasive metal songs lasting 30 seconds each. This is the original lineup of the band, with Pete Arado on drums (this is before Eric Ryan and Ace Rodgers came to fill in the roster). The album might not invite repeated listenings over a short period of time, but the original listen to this "trashic classic" will, without exception, leave you laughing to the point of gasping for air. It's out of print, but if you can get your hands on a copy of this, it would be well worth the effort.

Tracks: Not all are known (or, more accurately, remembered) at this time. But we know for certain a few of the titles: "Boobs," "Angel Eat Blood," and "Hardcore."

(PSR-002) Riot Gear "Gets You Chicks"
We're not even going to pretend you don't know about this record. This is the album that solidified the Big RG's place as kings of quirky power pop, as they're so often dubbed in the press. (PSR-004)Riot Gear "The Everything You Need For College EP"
Don't let the title fool you. This release is actually the newest full length from Compton's heroes. The Big RG, while on a tour of college campuses, encounter many zany adventures and reflect on some past events, all set to the tune of lo-fi dance-pop heaven. (PSR-005) Louie and the Baracudas "Hawaiian Sunset EP"
Louie and the Baracudas return with a studio-recorded batch of their surfcore gems. This EP sees the boys combining such disparate genres as power-pop, hardcore and do-wop, pouring the ear-pleasing results into a cocktail glass and putting a colored umbrella on the side.

Tracks:
1.) Maui Express
2.) Malibu (Hawaiian Eyes)
3.) Sketches on Hotel Stationary
4.) Haiku Bay

(PSR-006) Mega Turbo All Stars "Travelin' Muzik"
Described by Alternative Press as "zany...but weird," "Travelin' Muzik" is what happens when the world's three greatest dj's get together and rock the fucking house. This shiznit is the lo-fi audio equivalent of an ecstacy freakout. As challenging a listen as this might be at times, however, what sets this record apart from other experimental music is the total lack of pretension. There is an undeniable exuberance in this work - you can hear the fellas finding the joy in what they do. A Porkslab classic, to be sure.

Tracks:
1.)Intro (Meet the MTAS)
2.)The Dubelicious Groove
3.) Simple Text Funky Azz Groove (featuring some Italian guy)
4.) Independent Jumpin'

(PSR-007) William Perry: A Sandwich - "A Half Tank of Gas. Two Polaroids of Baio. The Glory."
Bill has astounded everyone with this release. A great example of both artistic growth and engaging experimentation, WPAS' debut LP is a collection of sound collages for those times when you're in the mood for some mind expansion. Aside from the great music, the titles alone ensure a good time. I mean, come on! You can't make this stuff up! But luckily, William Perry: A Sandwich can - and does.

1.) It's 2:37 a.m., and all you've got is this transistor radio

7.) Slam the Fax, ya dig?
8.) Ventura Highway Is A Myth
9.)Dying a Bloody, UnMerciful FM Death

(PSR-008) PAPERBACK THRONE - "Hello Control"
This is a collection of songs written and recorded by Porkslab exec Chris in his dorm room over the course of his freshman year at Depaul. It's not meant to be seen as a "solo project" or anything. Instead, these are songs that simply didn't fit into the styles of the other 'Slab bands, so they are presented here as a collection. With songs combining sound collages, pop, folk, country, and even gospel, "Hello Control" is a record that really sounds unlike anything else Porkslab has released before.

Tracks:
1.) Intro (doggies)
2.) Sweet Caroline Marie
(Hello, Officer Combs!) 3.) A City In Panic
4.) Carpet Handshakes
5.) Oh, Sam (A Riot Coming)

20.) A Top Hat, Filled With Rain

(PSR-009) J.R. "Sonny" Danville - "The Complete Recordings: 1952"
Sonny Danville's music is of the traditional sort - earthy, organic songs with sparse instrumentation and straight-forward narratives about love, loss, and lonesomeness. Recorded in an abandoned barn in 1952 Lexington, KY, the tunes fall under the umbrella of country/folk, with some blues and a lil' bit of ragtime (just to tickle your dancin' toes a bit). Written and recorded over the course of a single Saturday afternoon, this collection is worth a listen.

Tracks:
1.) Oh, My Little Kay Marie
2.) Water
3.) High Life Blues
4.) Carolina
5.) Lord, She Feels A Long Way Gone
6.) The State I'm In

(PSR-010) For A Martyr and A Girl - "Stupid Songs"
Don't let the self-deprecating title fool you: the songs included on FMG's debut LP are anything but stupid. This is a difficult release to pin down, jumping from power pop to electronica to ballads about ballroom dancing to sing-alongs about clam baking. "Stupid Songs" effectively puts FMG on the map as a musical force to be reckoned with!

Tracks:
1.) Stupid Songs
2.) A Song For The Mute
3.) Anti-Hero
4.) Andrew's Song
5.) Whisper
6.) I Wanna Get High With You Tonight (Stoner's Ballad)
7.) C.M.E.
8.) 8th of May
9.) Empire of Stars
10.) The Ball
11.) 8th of May (unplugged)

(PSR-011) Porkslab Rarities, Vol. 1 - "Everything Was OK Until The Dog Started Telling Me To Jump Into The Pool."
This is the first in a series of mini-comps, drawing from a collection of rarities, unreleased material, and demos from all your favorite 'Slabbers. These collections will offer listeners an interesting and entertaining view into the inside of the creative process of the Porkslab collective. Funny, enjoyable, and oftentimes quite good, these rarities are a must for any and all Porkslab followers.

(PSR-012) 420: LIVE FROM ASH'S APARTMENT
On April 20, 2002, a group of friends got together at Ash and Tunis' Chicago apartment to have a good time with some good friends and some good tunes. Some were inebriated, others were not. Chris happened to bring along his tape recorder, and with it captured the essence of a rockin' and mega-fun(ny) party. Including clips of such hilarious things as Stan Moody discussing alternate dimensions, Nickfo talking about how to break the cycle of meaninglessness in life, and Chris interviewing random strangers about Riot Gear. This is a must have, because it is the funniest thing ever. Do whatever you have to do to hear this.

(PSR-013) Dance Drive Crime - "The Creation of Copernicus"
This is the long awaited debut release for DDC, a mysterious techno warrior who plays too many video games. This record has brought dance music to an interesting, zany place. "Come enter this world which we have created," he implores. Won't you accept his invitation?

4. 80's Detective Drama

(PSR-014) The Soldering Gun - "Indictment: The Grand Prix"
NEVER RELEASED
I'm not sure why this one was never released. It's already been recorded (although who knows where those tapes are...) and the cover art has been finished for years. It was to be a limited, cassette-only release. This record captures a single night's activity, as noisesters Soldering Gun engage in some improved audio insanity. The album is an exercise in deconstruction, a record to put on as background music to an acid trip or as you're doing some Pollock-esque action painting. Or, you could simply put on some headphones, lie back, and listen to all of the strange sounds and suggested melodies float in and out of the mix.

(PSR-015) Mario Speedwaggin' - "Acoustic BBC Demos"
NEVER RELEASED
This record, written and recorded more than 4 years ago, has never been released, as we're not sure (a) where the master copy (a recycled cassette) of this record is, or (b) if Mario Speedwaggin' is alive or not. I hope it does eventually get out, though, because this one's a doozy. Recorded live at BBC Studios in London, the material featured on this album is the best material Mario has ever done. In fact, it's supposed to be the best material anyone has ever done. This record, according to Mario himself, was to "put Porkslab Records on the map!"

(PSR-016) J.R. "Sonny" Danville- "November 12, 1952"
During renovations of the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington, KY, a wax vinyl cylinder was uncovered, sitting behind the church's B-3 organ for over 50 years. This disc contained a rare live performance by J.R. "Sonny" Danville. Joined onstage by friend and local performer William "Buck" Prime, the album shows an immense growth in Danville's songwriting.

1. I'm Lying Down Now and Leaving You Alone
2. Leanne

(PSR-017)The Macons - "...Of Something Great"
The long-awaited debut release from the crazy duo of Snuggs and Tommy. This record is pure old-school 'Slab, with lo-fi, homespun audio chaos and a joyful grin from ear to ear. The energy on this release is contagious.

(PSR-018) Paperback Throne - fold/explode LP promotional sampler
This is a small sampler, for use in promoting the second Paperback Throne record, "fold/explode LP".

01. Ooh, ooh
02. Frenetic Peach Crush
03. Get Me The Commish!

(PSR-019) Paperback Throne - "Fold/Explode LP"
This is the second Paperback Throne release, and with its comparatively crisper recording quality and far more advanced songwriting, it is, without overstating the case, exactly 8,000 times stronger than the first. This is pop music with experimental leanings, exploring the spectrum of powerfully loud to delicately intricate, often within the same song. This record is also notable for its elaborate handmade packaging, which includes full lyric sheets, photograph confetti, hand-collaged cover sleeves, and an individually-numbered outer envelope.

Tracks:
1.) A A F#m F
2.) ooh, ooh
3.) For My Sweet and Tired
4.) Munchausens, Schmunchausens
5.) Get Me The Commish!

10.) E6
11.) Thoughts of Caroline
12.) Embracing the Fall
13.)A Fear of Buoys With Ropes Reaching Down To The Floor
14.) No. 2
15.) Bontempi Song
("Thanks, Mr. B!")

(PSR-020) J.R. "Sonny" Danville - "Reservoir Songs"
A troubled southern singer exploring styles ranging from traditional country-western to elements of ragtime, swing, and blues, his work seems to improve with each album. And so we come to "Reservoir Songs," the third collection of Danville's recordings that Porkslab has released. These tracks are actually field recordings done by Danville's friend Albert Howling as the two spent the summer of 1951 traveling up and down the Mississippi river, drifting from town to town and playing Danville's latest compositions with whatever local musicians he could rustle up. The existence of these recordings was unknown until Howling's death in December 2003, when they were found among his possessions. Among other things, this album is unique in that it shows Danville's work within the context of a full-band arrangement. This presentation, I think, is the ideal for Danville's music. This also sees Danville being a bit more experimental with his instrumentation and song structures.

Tracks:
1.) See How Quietly I Wait
2.) Until I've Fallen Away From You All
3.) Louise, Let Your Hair Hang Down
4.) Mary's Mouth
5.) Oh! Briana
6.) Ain't It A Shame (I Wish I Would Die)
7.) Headed To The Hollow / I Want To See You Fully
8.) Come Closer, Rosetta
9.) I'm Walking To The Water
10.) The Black Sheep, The Prodigal Son
11.) Wuauh Pulse
12.) All In Its Place
13.)May It Someday Be

(PSR-021 / BOR-10) William Perry: A Sandwich - "Pinky Infection"
The Fridge's second full-length LP, "Pinky Infection," is an action-packed concept record that sees William moving further away from his pop-culture-sampling origins, towards more unadorned noise experimentation. Following William through a life-altering experience (a pinky infection), the tracks on this record take listeners on a journey through the nether-regions of William's imagination. Sometimes abrasive but always interesting, "Pinky Infection" is the newest chapter within the ever-unfolding novel that is the music of William Perry: A Sandwich. This release is also notable in that it is the first official SLABORON release. Slaboron, of course, is the noise super-label formed by the joining of Porkslab Records and our good friends at Boron Recordings.

Tracks:
1.) Upon Initial Chewing
2.) Nail Base
3.) It Hurt Like Hell, But Only For A Moment
4.) So Worth It
5.) Redness
6.) And Then The Tip Of My Finger Puffed Up
7.) Didn't Think Much Of It

9.) Sup, Pus?
10.) Stinky Finger

(PSR-022) Paperback Throne/For a Martyr and a Girl - "Christmastime EP"
Late in the fall of 2003, Chris and Yiannis entered into a discussion of holiday music - specifically, its ability to warm the hearts of those who are open to it. They decided, then, to use their winter break that year to write and record orginal songs written for their respective favorite holidays: Halloween (Chris) and Christmas (Yan). The two collections of songs were recorded at the same time and were originally intended for release on a single CD. They weren't able to finish the record in time for a Christmas release, however, so they decided to postpone the release. As time went on, the decision was eventually made to release the collections as separate EPs, each with its own unique and fun packaging and goodies. The Halloween (to be released in October) and Christmas (to be released in late November) EPs were both created without irony or self-consiousness. The goal, from the get-go, was to make music that was warm, playful, and accessible, and the results are two intimate EPs intended for children but accessible to adults.

Tracks:
1.) They're Coming
2.) It's Christmastime (Merry Xmas, Brian!)
3.) Come On, Santa Claus (Won't You Say You're Coming 'Round)

You know the patches. They're everywhere. They're all gone. Find one if you can (I actually found one under my bed a few weeks back, so you never know where one will pop up!)

Video (PRODUCTION CEASED)

  • Riot Gear - "Abbyfest Video" - the video played at the infamous "Abbyfest" show of 1999, where RG's performance consisted simply of wheeling a TV-cabinet into the middle of Knights of Columbus and playing this strange video. Classic.

  • Tom, Al, John, Chris and Claire - "Remote Possibilities" - A project done for Tom, Al, and John's film class, featuring acting by Chris and Claire. Taped in John's room, this one is pretty amusing, if for no other reason than Chris' awkward attempt at acting.

  • We've also offered videos (VHS) of past live performances, for a small price. Whole shows went for $8, single bands for $3.00.
