(defunct)Serenade of Death was a death metal band from the Balkans - an explosion of blast beats, grind riffs, screaming, capes, and skull masks. These four dark soldiers sold their souls to death metal and, infused with the power of utter evil, came to disembowel the existing scene (and anyone else who stood in their way). All hailing from the same small village in the Balkans, the members awoke in their respective homes one morning to find the same cryptic message written on their walls - scrawled in blood - telling them to meet at an abandoned watchtower a mile outside of town. When they convened there, they found their instruments waiting. And although none of them had prior musical experience, lightning crashed as they picked up their instruments and struck their first notes. Put simply, they were chosen, picked by an unknown higher power to spread "guiterror" throughout the free world. Audience members were never safe at their shows, as the band actually went out of their way to injure them. With these extreme instrumental blasts and lyrical ponderings of mythology, species extinction, and violence, there is one underlying fact in the legend of S.O.D.: You're not ready for this. And you cannot prepare. You can only experience the fire and metal explosion! It saddens my heart to know that they will never release their debut LP, "Burning the Virgin Black Towards Bloodgasm," as that's a pretty fucking hilarious title for a record. "Gunther, save us!"..."OK GO!"
