This is where we broke through our brick wall
and  found a previously un-researched Pomery family
Pat has the census entry for Richard in London 1851
giving his birth place as Warrington in Devon.
Warrington turned out to be Werrington which was transfered to Cornwall in 1968
Annie has seen the Transcriptions and the Werrington BT film for Richard's birth.
Chris Pomery and IGI  has provided  information about earlier family members

Notes and Speculations about Our Pomery Tree.

nothing found in IGI  for John and Elizabeth Pomery  and a marriage before 1716 in Launceston or north Cornwall  area.
Annie wonders if this family connect s to the St Neots family. see Map
Lewannick is the next parish to North Hill and  Linkinhorn  nearby, where stone was quarried . Chris at Pomerology gives the opinion that these families may connect with the family at Trebartha in North Hill which was another place known for its stone;. the stone there built London Bridge.
Distance some 5 or so miles and  Trebartha in Lezant also adjoins Lewannick  where  there was a family"the Trebartha POMs"  ( family #112) headed by a Roger, who  married  in nearby Lezant in 1726.
Samuel Pomeroy & Mary Hughes married
North Hill 5 March 1766. Children Elizabeth Mary Ann & Roger

We would be interested  to hear from anyone who  thinks that any of the
Pomerys  found here are connected to their tree.

We really want to hear from anyone who had Devon Pomeroy connections to Ireland
circa 1700 1750.

POMERY Family 515

John Pomery and  wife in Lewannick .
Where they came from is unknown  but I suspect this was a yeoman  family, possibly with a 3 lives lease .( Yeoman was a social status rather than an occupation. It indicated ownership of land and an income above a certain level)
Reasoning: Roger,  b 1762, married a Vosper , a Yeoman family who had dealings with Rodd of Trebartha. They would probably have married within their own class with yeoman families marrying yeoman families
