Windstrate Family House

Windstrate Family House

The Windstrate Family house is located on this route. They are a family of four trainers that will take on any trainer that knocks at their door, the four of them in succession one after the other!

Interviewers

Several programs can be enjoyed on television in Hoenn. One of these programs is called "In Search of Trainers" and is run by an interviewer and her cameraman. To search for trainers to present in their program, they challenge them to a hot double battle. Two comments are requested of the trainer after the battle, and then they present that on television.

Desert

There is a desert on Route 111. Sandstorms are constantly brewing in it. To be able to get through it, Go-Goggles are needed.

In the desert, fossils can be found. These are to be taken to the Fossil Maniac. He should know what to do with them.

Fiery Path

An alternative path to going through the desert exists called Fiery Path. This area teams with fire-type pokémon and is also very hot, since it passes through Mt. Chimney.

Cable Car

A Cable Car goes up from here to the top of Mt. Chimney. Anybody can use it free of charge to see what's up there.

Secret Bases

There is a kid here who likes to make secret hideouts in trees that have vines that may drop down, bushes, and small intents in walls that hide secret caverns. He gave a passing-by trainer the TM Secret Power so that they could make their own hideouts.

Hideouts can be decorated with dolls, desks, chairs, cushions, and mats among other things. These items can be bought at Slateport Market, Mauville Game Corner, Lilycove Department Store, Fortree City, and found in some other places as well.

Old Lady's Rest House

The interior of the Old Lady's Rest House

If a trainer's pokémon are to tired to go on, the trainer should take a rest at the Old Lady's Rest House. She encourages various rests, but one is more than enough to restore all the pokémon in a party and continue the journey.

The Ash Route

Route 113 is covered with ashes because the wind blows them away from Verdanturf Town (making the air clean there) to the north of Mt. Chimney, directly onto Route 113! These ashes can be collected in a Soot Sack and given to the Glassblower who creates flutes that can have an amazing variety of effects in his shop on this route. He also distributes Soot Sacks

Though not made from ashes, the Pokéflute was used by Red in the 1990's to wake up a sleeping pokémon that blocked a path
