Hey all!
By the way, I'm 16 and I live in California. I have beaten all the pokemon
games, watched every single pokemon episode, and played TCG. You can ask me anything you want. There's a little info about your favorite webmaster.
Anyways, this page contains information about the gyms and leaders of pokemon gold/silver.
Caution!
This information will help you in your battles with the gym leaders. Make sure you read everything correctly in order to win your battles. And e-mail me if you have any questions relating to my strategies. USE IT WELL!
(e-mail link on homepage).
| Pokemon Strategy #1 (Gym Leaders): About the Violet City Gym and the Zephyr Badge |
|
After battling and capturing some of the new and old Pokémon you'll be ready to take on the local gym leader, Falkner. He uses bird Pokémon and is not difficult to defeat. You should use Rock Pokemon against him. Once you beat Falkner he will give you the Zephyr Badge. It will allow you to use Flash anytime.

If they are you will be able to beat Bugsy easily. You will be able use cut outside of battle and all pokemon up to level 30 will obey you.

| Pokemon Strategy #3 (Gym Leaders): About the Goldenrod City Gym and the Plain Badge |
| Whitney uses only normal pokemon, but they are all powerful. If you have an onix or a geodude, it will help
you a lot right now. Her miltank is the tough pokemon of her team. Watch out for its rollout attack(rock-type). Rollout gets more powerful than it already is every turn, so make miltank faint before your pokemon faints.
Also, when you beat her if you beat her, she will cry and will not give you the plain badge. You have to talk to the trainer closest to her and then let her talk to Whitney. After the trainer talks, talk to Whitney and the plain badge will be yours.
The plain badge lets you use strength outside of battle and raises the speed of your pokemon.

| Pokemon Strategy #4 (Gym Leaders): About the Ecruteak City Gym and the Fog Badge |
| There is a ghost floor surface which continually has you falling through, but to get to the other side, you must walk directly forward in front of a gym trainer, then walk directly left/right, but before reaching the edge, walk directly up in front of another trainer.
The Gym Leader uses all Ghost Pokémon so a Psychic like Kadabra or Drowzee will come in handy here.
Morty will give you the Fog Badge for winning. All Pokémon up to level 50 will obey you now and you'll be able to use Surf outside of battle. He will also give you TM 30, Shadow Ball.

| Pokemon Strategy #5 (Gym Leaders): About the Cianwood City Gym and the Storm Badge |
| Make sure that your pokemon are fully healed before you enter the gym. Two trainers will battle you without intervals between them.
The gym leader Chuck uses fighting pokemon. He has a Poliwrath and a primeape. For his poliwrath use an electric, psychic, or flying type pokemon. For his primeape use a psychic or flying type pokemon. Make sure you make his poliwrath faint before it uses "Dynamic Punch." If it hits you, your pokemon will become confused and it will lose a lot of HP.
After you beat Chuck, you'll be able to use fly outside of battle and all pokemon up to level 70 will obey you.

| Pokemon Strategy #5 (Gym Leaders): About the Olivine City Gym and the Mineral Badge |
| Make sure that your pokemon are fully healed before you enter the gym.
You don't have to worry about any trainers in the gym because the only person there will be the gym leader, Jasmine. Jasmine uses all steel pokemon. Steel pokemon are weak against fire, ground, and water pokemon. But don't use these types:
Grass, Ice, Flying, Pschic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, and of course, Steel.
She's really pretty easy to beat if you use the right types and try to faint her Steelix fast. Good luck!
Once you beat her the mineral badge is yours. It raises your pokemons' defense. Also she gives you Iron Tail which lowers your opponent's pokemon's defense by one level.
