Reset

I always see you throw rocks into the water
Distorting the smooth surface
And even though you try so hard
You could never get the perfect ripple
One you liked
That perhaps would echo its beauty on the water
Before fading.
You could always pretend you didn't fail
And toss pebble after pebble again
Just as the surface's regained its untouched appearance
But do remember
That the stones never really disappear
They're just hidden somewhere at the bottom
Deep down in the murky pool.

Note: I wrote this near a small river at the back of my grandparents' old place that they're selling.
