Those arms of yours
Long to hug another
And that best smile of yours
Is meant for someone else
Your taste, your lips
Tingle truly for someone that's never me
And whenever I see that look in your eyes
It's for someone else; someone never meant to be.
As much as I tingle and melt
To see you so in love
My heart starts breaking in two again
Whenever I think of her.
You know you can't have her
You know she's out of reach
But still you crave for her
And still you gaze, you wish.
I gaze, I wish.
Because I know I can't have you
As close as you are, you're always out of reach
And if only you knew how much I still crave.
Yes, still.
For your arms to hug me again and again
For that smile which leaves me wanting more
For your lips against mine
just once
For that look in your eyes to be for me.
If I can't have all, then just grant me one
Grant me a revelation on his face
Grant him free of her
Grant me a vanishing look
A mark of true realization on his soul
Grant that he sees her finally in reality
So that I may have a chance.
So that he can see
That she'll never be his
That I can always be his
Then let his mind wander again
And then we'll see.

Note: Dated 10 April 2000. Uh-huh. Ex-muse poem. One of the reasons my
'feelings' were unrequited was because of his crush on another girl, the perpetually out
of reach kind. I've talked to her a few times,
she's actually great. The stuff guys dream of, apparently. |
