return to poetrydustFelt
estimated 2nd April 2002
when you touched my skin
i couldn't tell who trembled first
your fingers like gentle
caramel-coated
messengers
were all too eager to savour
and you, you
want to savour me,
me
i'm glowing
my body's singing
your name is all over it
and all over my breathy
sighing syllables
spilling with air
you make me feel fragile
like the prettiest porcelain
like glowing silk wrapped
loosely all over you
or laid out for you to see.
i'm lost
in many many kinds of velvet and sandpaper.
in everything rough and silky
come away with me
slowly away
where we can't be found
we're breathless
lazy slow
increasingly urgent
pacing towards nothing
sweetest happiest nothing
some form of unsatiated beauty
an unimaginable heaven
suddenly doesn't seem too far away
i'm calling out for it
and it'll come to me soon.
