See how you stretch, yawn
How you cast a solemn, unamused look
Of b-o-r-e-d-o-m
With those emerald green eyes (lazy eyes)
Like you always do.
Your gaze even seems to hold judgement
Do you judge me from behind your barrier?
And aren't you the proudest of them all?
Eating what others could only dream of
Sporting diamond studs on a blue collar
A brush through your fur every hour of every day.
You didn't look like you'd be much fun
You were just interested in sitting there, staring
At everyone
Contented being in the limelight
Your existence based on all those eyes on you.
Oh how I despised that half-lidded glance
Yet I pressed my hands against the glass
Wishing for seconds that you were mine.
Wiping sweaty hands
I walked away from the petstore.
