seminar farewell

Listening to: Cold - Gone Away
Reading: alternating between Victor Hugo - Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Danielewski's House of Leaves.

It’s so easy to skip website updates after you’ve played truant for one or two entries. But I’d rather not feel like I owe explanations. I am elated because I don't feel like going online every day.

Anyway, I made up for it. All my entries are here.

Today was the last day of the English Literature seminar I've been going to since April 17. That was one exhausting experience... 2:30 till 5:30 pm every Sunday until today. Now I can finally say "Yeah, I can go out" without having to skip class.

It wasn't a teary goodbye. A few of us went for lunch at Janice's expense (Oliver's Super Sandwiches of course, because she owns it), and Carly, Tess and Georgia followed me to go buy a notebook, since I forgot to bring one.

The three of them wrote their contacts plus little see-you-around notes, and at class Jimmy, Ross, Maria and Aziya followed suit. Granted, I didn't get everyone's contacts like most people did, but I got the ones that mattered. And I only wrote for those who mattered.

I wonder if I'll see them again, because in that moment it seemed so appropriate to get as many numbers as you can, like I did in a camp some years ago. But when I did that, I never heard from a single camp mate since, neither did I make any effort either. Sometimes they're just a couple of moments  in time, they change you a little, make you laugh, and then they leave.

This time though, I hope it won't happen to me. Hell, I might even be the one pioneering the lunch-and-movie reunion sometime in the future.
