WHO AM I ?::MADELEINE
Madeleine was born in Toledo, Ohio and spent her
childhood there. She now lives in California on
the spectacular coast.
She's been called many things in her life: Mother, Quilt Designer, Visual
Expressionist, Francophile, Photographer, Researcher, Award-Winning Poet and
Word-Weaver. Written word has taken a stranglehold on her. Inside her head
~ thoughts. In her hand ~ a fountain pen. Her chosen form of communication
will always be rich, ripe ink flowing on pristine paper for a silent venue
of self-expression. This is her brain. This is her heart. Tread lightly.
She is a member of Simon and Schuster Readers Advisory Board, Zoetrope Studios
and Words of a Woman Net Society. Her work has been published online at Analysands,
Lingerings, Mystic Ink, Spiritual Sisters, Themestream and many other fine
journals. Madeleine was one of the judges in the recent Hearts Through History
2002 writing contest.
Her recent work concerns the concepts of change and random chance merging
with impulsiveness and control to create touches of unexpected lusciousness.
She likes to create written worlds filled with strong women, witty dialogue
and high-spirited fun. She's engaged in a lifelong love of reading.
Quilting, a very American art form is one of her passions. She was originally
drawn to quilting because of the tactile and dimensional quality that comes
from working with fabric. Fabric uses colour, line and form much as poetry
does to convey a resonating emotion to a viewer. Both have been an outlet
during hard times.
If you have any questions, you can deposit them in her mailbox.
Please be patient if she doesn't get right back to you, as she is likely in
her office finishing her novel or writing for web or print media.
