Organization By-Laws
PJYA is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Nebraska.

  1. Each board member seat will be held for a 2 Yr. Term. He or She may run as many times as they like or gets elected. At this time ballots will be given to the parents for voting and submitted to the board.
  2. No officer may hold more than one board seat.
  3. The board will consist of at least 2 to 3 trustees.
  4. The board positions will be as follows (click here for Executive Board Member Duties and Responsibilities):
  5. President

    Vice-President

    Secretary

    Treasurer

    Director of Football

    Director of Cheerleading

  6. In case of any board members resignation the remaining board members will fill the position until a permanent member is elected.
  7. PJYA. will have a yearly evaluation from the parents or legal guardian (of a participating child.) To evaluate the program in general, and the coaching staff of all age groups.
  8. All financial books and treasurer�s reports will be reviewed at the end of each year by an outside person and be reported back to the board.
  9. Each outgoing check from PJYA will require 2 board members signature.
  10. No checks will be written without prior approval of the board.
  11. NO Coaches or Assistant coaches will be paid by PJYA.  All coaches will be on a volunteer basis ONLY.
  12. All rules and regulations pertaining to the league and PJYA are the Director of Football�s responsibility, and must be available for player & parental review and signature at the time of sign ups.
  13. The president and associated director (football or cheerleading) will handle all disciplinary actions or dismissals of participants or coaches. Any parent may appeal to the board of any UN-Fair treatment or decision at a board meeting. ONLY 1 appeal may be made and the decision of the board will be FINAL!
  14. Each member of the organization will be expected to act professionally and accordingly, to best represent PJYA.
  15. The appropriate director (football or cheerleading), or a board member when a director is not present, will handle any problems at the field pertaining to coaches, referees or disturbances.
  16. Each board member and director will sign the original copy of the By-laws and it shall be forwarded on to the state of Nebraska BI annually. Each board member and director will receive a copy of the signed original By-laws.
  17. Any child receiving medical attention do to a football injury while at practice or during a game, must have a signed document giving that child clearance from the doctor before that child is eligible to participate in practice or in a game.
  18. All out going board members shall have the option of staying as a trustee if they so wish.
  19. PJYA will have an open book policy so that any person and or business donating to PJYA may see how the monies are being spent.
  20. PJYA will have two open meetings during the season so that any person my address the board with any questions or concerns.
  21. Any person interested in running for an open board position must notify a current board member and nominate himself / herself as a candidate for a specific board position prior to October 1 of the current season. The current board member contacted must provide a copy of the board position responsibilities to the self-nominating candidate.
  22. The following criteria are recommended for persons wishing to be considered as a candidate for a PJYA Board Member position.
    1. At least one (1) year of involvement with the PJYA Program; through coaching, cheerleading, parenting, or program support / participation.

    2. Attendance at 75% of the program functions; i.e. home games, fund raisers, field clean-up and other activities.
    3. Communicate, interact, and resolve conflicts with people in a respectful, professional, courteous, and cooperative manner.
    4. Ability to act and work together as part of a team.
    5. Personal and public conduct in a manner that upholds the values of PJYA By-laws and Codes of Conduct.
    6. Be informed of and willing to assume the duties and responsibilities of the PJYA Board position being pursued.

  23. Executive Board Member duties and responsibilities are documented in Appendix A of these By-Laws.
  24. Any person running for, or assuming the board position of President, must have previously held a board position (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, or Director) or currently be holding a board position.
  25. Families with multiple children registered in PJYA activities of flag football, full contact football, or cheerleading will be entitled to reduced financial obligations for all additional registrations with 1 full price registration (the highest applicable registration fee). The specific reduced obligation is at the discretion of the acting board and will be documented on the registration forms and communicated to all parents at the time of registration.
  26. Codes of Conduct will exist for coaches, participants (football and cheerleading), and parents of participants. All will be required to sign their respective Code of Conduct prior to participation; no exceptions. The Codes of Conduct will be documented in Appendix B of these By-Laws.
  27. The PJYA Board reserves the right to terminate the participation of any parent or participant for the remainder of the current year activities or any future activities, based on repeated infractions of the PJYA Parent Rules and Regulations Contract, Coaches Code of Conduct Contract, or Player / Participant Contract. The PJYA board will provide written "Notice of Termination" to the parent of concern.
