Welcome to Dakota Land!

Dakota tribal people make up the majority of Native American's in Pipestone, most of them belong to the same family that are called the Original Pipestone Dakota Community. Moses Crow (Mdewakanton Sioux), came to live in town in 1929 with his wife, Estella (Pearsall), and they are the great, great, great grandparents to the youngest members of the Community. Today there are approximately 200 family members most living in Pipestone.
