The Spirit Winter Percussion won the Bronze medal at WGI Championships
in Phoenix, Arizona in 1996, and fifth place in final competition
at the WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio in 1995. The Kiwanis
Cavaliers was Division ll finalist and took top percussion
in 1995.
James began marching at the age of 11; played bass drum for
2 years and snare drum for 5 years. His personal achievements
include placing in top 20 at the DCI Individuals Category
in Buffalo, NY, receiving 6 Ontario Individual medals for
solo snare. He also made it through the rigorous audition
to join the snare line of the Phantom Regiment, Rockford,
Illinois, and the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps in Canton,
Ohio but was unable to march because of his education commitments.
