Advice to newly called Stake RS President 04/26/02

We just went to one a couple weeks back.  As 2nd cons. our assignment was to bring one lesson idea for the homemaking nursery class I know it is not called that anymore.  Our stake rs 2nd cons. had send each of us 3 lesson ideas, songs and all, copies for children to color.  We were to bring one for each of the wards (remember just one lesson idea) and share therefore having lessons for over a year.   Sounded good but only two of us remember to do it.   One reason is due to their busy scedules and I do understand.

The 1st cons. had to search the community to find ways that we could be of service, she was unable to attend.  We have been doing things and we had our ass. sec. attend that class and inform the group of our projects.

Don't know what our rs pres. did.

One time we each brought a idea or craft to show that went over big at a homemaking meeting.  With instructions.  Plus other winning classes, handouts were few but those were great.

Some sisters shared their newsletter to look at, they all were very good, some had pc to do their letter on and others did not.  They were great.

I love taking things home with me to inspire us in our calling.  Our meetings are very good but sometimes traveling one hour is kind of hard at night.  We take turns going to different wards and that is very fair.

Joan New Jersey.
