Return to Stake Leadership Meeting Ideas

Debra Johnson wrote: I am currently living in the country of Belize.  My branch president has asked me to train a relief society presidency.  I have some materials, but would like any suggestions as to how to go about doing this.  Thanks, Debra Johnson

Break the assignment into following sessions:

Start with an overall orientation to what RS is and what it does for the sisters, how it is a worldwide women's organization.

Second lesson: compassionate service.

Third lesson: visiting teaching.

Fourth lesson: go over the duties as outlined in  the handbook (if in the correct language; if not, give simple interpretations).

Fifth lesson: discuss how homemaking meetings fit into the program, how they can help your sisters, how to do a quarterly planning calendar, fill in details for first  or  next homemaking  meeting, giving assignments, etc.

Sixth lesson:  teach about calling others to the program and orienting them to their callings.

It may be possible to do all of this at one time depending on how in-depth the discussions get and how quickly those you are teaching absorb the information you want to give. As you pray about this assignnent, new ideas will come to you and you can accomplish what the Branch President has asked you to do.
