"Clowning Around" is the theme of Pendleton After 5’s May 14 meeting at the Vert Little Theater, S.W. 4th, at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy the silly seriousness of "Tickles & Taffy" along with guest speaker Lois Brown of Woodburn, OR. Her independent spirit and need to control sent her world whirling out of control. Now she and her husband Tim take fun to every corner of the world. PIONEER PLAYGROUND
PROJECT
Work will begin soon on the new playground equipment being erected at Pioneer Park, N.W. 4th & Despain. They are scheduled to complete the entire project in 5 days, June 13-17. They need your help in the following areas: people power (from kids to senior citizens—there’s a job for everyone!), tools, meals (all food/drinks will be donated—preparers/servers are needed), cash donations which will enable you to have your name engraved on a picket fence at the park or buy a tile on which your child’s handprint in placed. YOUTH BOWLING NIGHT
"PINNED" All middle and high school youth are invited to go bowling in Walla Walla on Wednesday, May 9 (no school the next day!). Tom Demianew will be heading over in the church van—leaving at 6 p.m. and getting back about 9:30 p.m. Games are $1 per person, shoes are $1 and they may stop on the way home for a snack. Let Tom know (276-5756) or contact the church office (276-1894) to be sure we’ve got enough vehicles. Everyone is invited to bring a friend. If you’ve got a spare night, strike while you’ve got the opportunity to split Pendleton, staying in your own lane while you do. (Sorry-I couldn’t resist!)
SENIOR CENTER NEEDS A HELPER
The Pendleton Senior Center needs one driver to deliver meals each Thursday for one hour, 11 a.m. to noon. If you think you could help in this area, contact Anita in the church office.
