lyrics of the whatever

// it's crowded in worship today / but she slips in / trying to fade into the faces / but the girls teasing laughter is carrying / farther than they know / farther than they know //
but if we are the body / why aren't His arms reaching / why aren't His hands healing / why aren't His words teaching / if we are the body / why aren't His feet going / why is His love not showing them there is a way / there is a way // a traveler is far away from home / he sheds his coat / and quietly sinks into the back row / the weight of their judgemental glances / tell him his chances are better out on the road // chorus // jesus paid much too high a price / for us to pick and choose who should come / for we are the body of Chirst // chorus // jesus is the way // "If We Are The Body" -Casting Crowns //
relections

when i first heard this song, i was amazed. it honestly floored me. this isn't exactly a topic songwriters like to write about. how hypocritical christians can be... it exposed the less 'glamourous' side of us and it scared me. i mean, it stripped us down and said, 'look, we're basically no different from the rest of the world'. it's so scary to see how that's our church, like, i've been one to give out the sideway glances and to judge a person by their looks and it really hit the nail on the head. i think it's a powerful song with a powerful meaning we all need to be reminded of time and time again.

hailing from canada, this band was started in 1997 when the three eager band members were all still in highschool. they played any where people would listen. this proved to be interesting, venues ranging from back porches to corn roast parties to proms. all the playing and experience paid off. they have signed with two record companys over the years and are currently with Tooth and Nail.they are one of Christian music's leading rock groups with their edgy tunes and awesome rocking energy... all with a great message.
