              National Police Week 2004, at the National Law Enforcement Officers              Memorial                 

One of the lion statues stationed at each end of the two memorial walls.  The inscription reads "The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion."

Two lion cubs, which are guarded by the lion in the above picture to symbolize the protective role of law enforcement.

        Photo of Officer Robert King, of the Hyattsville City Police (MD), who was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol.

A memorial wreath placed at the memorial in memory of all of the police officers from the Baltimore City Police Department who were killed in the line of duty.

Items left in memory of two Montgomery County (MD) police officers, and other fallen officers.

Poems and pictures left at the end of one of the memorial walls.

Two members of the New York & New Jersey Port Authority Police Department Emerald Society play the bagpipes as the Police Unity Tour arrives at the memorial.
