WOW WEE WERE THESE XP INSTALLS A DOOZIE, IT COULD TAKE OVER AN HOUR ON THIS ONE ERROR ALONE, NOT TO MENTION ALL THE LINE ERRORS AND BLINKERS WE WERE ALL OF A SUDDEN GETTING, AS WELL AS THE FACT THE DISPATCH WAS OVERLOADED

Below are the steps that installers can take to resolve the AOL 7.0 installation issue on XP OEM machines. These instruction are for TWC trained installers only. Please forward ALL AOL members to AOL Member Services to resolve this issue. Please review and let me know if you have any questions.

Issue: AOL 6.0 begins to install when installing the AOL 7.0 Client on XP OEM machines.

 

Steps to Resolution:

 

1. Rename AOL60US.EXE to AOL60US.OLD. Run CSWITCH.EXE.

 

2. If step 1 fails, Rename ONLINE SERVICES folder. Run CSWITCH.EXE.

 

3. If step 2 fails, Call AOL Member Services.
