USA Section C
This section of the site is all about my journey across America. We had finished travelling south, so now it was time to head east. Now it really was a case of 'good-a-place-as-any' to find out where we would go next. From now on, we really only had three places in mind, The Grand Canyon, DC and New York City. To get to the last two, there was a heck of a lot of country between them and us that we had to cross.
On this page are sections for Las vegas, The Grand Canyon and St Louis
Las Vegas, NV
| The home of cheese. Vegas was the hottest place I have ever been. We couldn't walk along the street for too long before nipping into one of the casinos or somewhere to take advantage of the ice cool air conditioning. The casinos were always busy with the caching of the slot machines, and the people camped in front of them with wok sized cups of quarters. | |

| This was the next stop on our journey east. We arrived in Flagstaff in the morning (so too late to go to the canyon), so our first day there was just monging in front of the TV, something which I hadn't done for quite a while. We went for a wonder around the town a bit later on, but you really only go to Flagstaff to go to the Canyon, so there really isn't that much to do. Still, the next day... | |

| Right, now we have to skip about half the country! After Flagstaff, we went to Albuquerque (I got the spelling right first time!), where we spent just one night. We didn't really do anything in Albuquerque (there isn't that much to do) except get caught in the mother of all rainstorms on the way to a KFC, and it was only really intended as a stop over to break up the travelling time. After Albuquerque, we crossed another vast swathe of land and arrived in Oklahoma City, where we stayed for just a few hours. It was like a ghost town, it was virtually deserted. No need to stop there, so on we went and arrived in St Louis. We'd covered about half the width of the United States in just two or three days! As you could maybe tell, the main thing to do in St Louis is the Arch, the Gateway to the West. | |
