Big Hole
Ok then, this little rut in he landscape is the Grand Canyon. Big innit?! Its 11 miles to the north rim over the other side. This is quite a nice shot because you can see the river that caused all this.
Our tour guide for the canyon was really great. The way he introduced us to the canyon was excellent (Canyon, Paul. Paul, Canyon) - no. He took us to the visitor's centre when we still had not yet seen the canyon, and took us out in pairs, with our eyes closed, right to the edge wall, and said, "Open your eyes". It was an amazing way to see it for the first time, to have the sudden impact of this massive hole stretching out in front of you. Much better, I think, than if he had driven us round the edge for a bit so we were kind of weaned onto it. Well done mate, hope you get a pay rise!!
