The USA Section
I travelled around the USA throughout the whole month of August 2000, after having spent 5 months in Canada. My friend from back in England had flown out to come travelling with me, and all we knew when we left Vancouver was that we had to fly out of New York on September 1st, but where we were going to go en route was anyone's guess. We didn't make a plan of how long we would stay in each place, most of the time we didn't know where each place would be, sometimes having to make decisions on the availability of a bus or somewhere to stay. Still, we made it in the end, and even though a month was never enough time, we still managed to cram quite a bit into it.
I have presented this page into a chronological way in the order that we visited each place. I have also had to break it down into sections, cos there are so many photos (I came home with 250 from America alone, but they're not all on here!), it would take ages for them all to load at once.

My Route around the States

Some of the locations on this map were just overnight stop-overs, and some we never spent more than a few hours in, such as Oklahoma City, where, surprisingly, we managed to see a fair bit, despite the fact it was almost deserted! Portland, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh were the other places that saw just a fleeting glimpse of us, and Boston was just a day trip from New York.
