Just a note to remind you the only reason we celebrate Christmas is because our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day. He is by far
the best gift ever given. God tells us in His word, the Bible, that if we accept His gift of forgiveness for our sins, He will send the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts. Without this gift, we will be condemned to spend
the rest of eternity in hell. I don't know about you, but I am not willing to gamble on eternity. I know so many people that don't believe in God, Jesus, or the Bible. It is sad to see so many people
refuse to accept the gifts God wants to give them. It really doesn't make much sense. God is trying to freely give you eternal life in heaven, the Holy Spirit, and His son, Jesus, who died for our sins so that we may be
forgiven. You can have forgiveness, blessings, happiness, contentment, joy and best of all: and a helper that will strengthen you, defend you, protect you, and help you live your life, ensuring that
you have all the things you need to live a godly life. Instead of accepting this, many people choose to handle life with their own extremely limited power. This brings nothing but misery, eternal death,
guilt, fear, and unhappiness. By doing this, you are choosing to make sure you are miserable and have no one to turn to in your time of trouble, and we all have them. There is shelter from the storm. If
somebody offered you the perfect job and a helper to make sure you could do all the things this job required you to do - would you accept it? Or would you say, "No, I don't want all of those good things. I will
just stick with the job I have now, and be miserable for the rest of my life, keeping my really bad retirement plan - eternity in hell." Of course, you would accept the perfect job. We are always trying to better
our lives for our families and ourselves. My question is, how is choosing the perfect job any different from choosing to accept the wonderful gifts God is willing to give you? What do you have to lose? Nothing. What do
you have to gain? Everything. Are you willing to at least try it? Christmas will soon be upon us. Give God a chance. He promises in His word that if you seek Him you will find Him. |
