The crossing into Nicaragua was far more civil than into Panama, sheparded by a cabbie we headed straight to San Juan Del Sur on the coast. It and it's surrounding beaches provided our entertainment for the next couple of days before heading to the upscale colonial town of Granada. |
Our first night at San Juan, the beach wasn't much but the town was kinda cool replete with hazy sunsets and frequent power outages. |

Majagual and Merida Beach made for an excellent day trip, the surf was huge but Sarah managed to wade in and get her ass wet... |

...Pat got his kicked. |

We then headed south to Playa Yankee, stayng at Amaures on Yankee, the only people on the whole beach, except for the guy with the enormous freakin gun guarding the access road below. |

Comfy cabin + 3 tasty meals a day for 30 USD makes for a good deal. |

As a roof over head and 3 squares means no need to hunt or gather, Pat busied himself building a shelter from the sea...for his Flip Flops. |

That's nice work there Pat. |

It held up for a while...until the tide came in. |

Sarah busied herself reading her book and the outdated fashion magazines ("I didn't know that Jen and Ben broke up!?"). |
I should mention that it was dry season in Nicaragua, hence the arid look to the land, we hypothosized that the water bottles are rain catchers. Apparently December is the time to go. |

Granada... |
Granada was like the fairytale castle at disney land for Sarah. We wandered the streets checking out the colonial architecture and ended up spending a relaxing 5 days at the "Best Hostel Ever". |

Sarah's self described "Crazy fascination with doors and windows". Sometimes there were horses, Sarah likes those too. |

On this occasion a dog followed us for the entire day. Luckily for him Sarah likes dogs too. |

Pat likes loud marching bands (known as batterias). |

Sarah likes our hostel, there she is at the window...Hi Sarah. |
