Cell Division

You may choose any combination of the following activities below to achieve a total of 40 points. I will look for completion of these activities by October 31. You must be busy working at all times on these activities during class. If not, you will be asked to hand them in at that time.

You will not necessarily get all the points for each activity that you attempt. If your work is substandard or information presented is inaccurate, points will be given accordingly. The stages of mitosis for any activity listed must be presented accurately and in order.

Write a love/loss story about a pair of chromosomes trapped in a cell that is dividing. The story must accurately represent the stages of mitosis in order and be a minimum of 1.5-2 pages hand written and single spaced.

Observe and sketch the Onion Root Tip (Allium) slides or the whitefish slides under the microscope. Each stage must be verified by the teacher. (You must actually point out each stage on the microscope to the teacher to get their initials).
