You may choose any combination of the following activities below to achieve a total of 40 points. I will look for completion of these activities by October 31. You must be busy working at all times on these activities during class. If not, you will be asked to hand them in at that time.

You will not necessarily get all the points for each activity that you attempt. If your work is substandard or information presented is inaccurate, points will be given accordingly. The stages of mitosis for any activity listed must be presented accurately and in order.

3	Write a song and turn in a hard copy of the words of any genre of music (rap, jazz, country, whatever) about the stages of mitosis that you will sing for the class.	10 points
4	Create your own labeled and colored "Stages of Mitosis" color lab. The color lab must fit on one page and pictures/labels must be large enough to be colored.	10 points
5	Complete the Online Onion Root Tips Lab and complete the worksheet questions with it.	10 points
6	Use the "Not a Banana, but an Onion Split" to cut out, sort and paste each whole cell into a table that includes each of the four stages of mitosis.	15 points
7	Go to the website cellsalive.com and learn the information on the Mitosis button. Use the information to create a 5-panel color cell division cartoon on paper.	15 points
8	Make a mitosis flip book. (See instructions)	15 points
9	Write a love/loss story about a pair of chromosomes trapped in a cell that is dividing. The story must accurately represent the stages of mitosis in order and be a minimum of 1.5-2 pages hand written and single spaced.	15 points
10	Custom-make your own animated PowerPoint video of the stages of mitosis. Use your own computer-generated sketches of the phases! It must be presented to the teacher.	20 points
11	Cell division square dance. This activity requires 8 students from your class to participate equally. This square dance must be presented and explained to the class.	20 points
12	Create a set of ornaments that illustrate the phases of mitosis. Label all parts of the cell	20 points
13	Observe and sketch the Onion Root Tip (Allium) slides or the whitefish slides under the microscope. Each stage must be verified by the teacher. (You must actually point out each stage on the microscope to the teacher to get their initials).	20 points
