1. Obtain 20 pieces of plain, unlined paper. They must be all the same size!
2. Secure these pieces of paper along one edge with three staples.
3. Test you booklet to make sure the pages are secured properly by holding the stapled edge in one hand and using your thumb and forefinger of the other hand to fan the pages. Write your name on the back of your book.
4. Use a pencil to sketch a small single cell on the very first page. On the very last page, draw two new separated daughter cells.
5. Draw and label each event. Skip 2-3 pages between each illustration!!!
6. On the blank pages, draw the "in-between" stages showing the chromosomes as they move from stage to stage. When you hold the pages on the secured edge and fan the loose edges, you should see the illustrations "move" as if you were watching the cell cycle occurring in living cells.
7. Once you have your animation complete, add color to different parts of the cell.
8. Congratulations! You are now an official mitosis cartoon animator!
