: [CSI The Crew] :

So you all wonder who runs and contributes to this site. Well we thought we would post some mini-bio's about ourselves.

Name: Papillon
Talents: Object Recolors
Interests: Fitness, virtual reality gaming, The Sims 2, and science.
Games: I am a simulation fan and been that way ever since playing Maxis Sim's Farm. Those were the days I collected Sim games but once the Sims 1 was released  in 2000, I  have pretty much gave up other games.  Moving onto the Sims 2,  I have not really looked back on the Sims 1. Someday I might just install it for retro times, but really looking more forward to the Sims 3.

Sims Stuff Packs: FFSGlamourHolidayCelebrationsH&MTeen Style StuffKitchen and BathIkea Stuff PackMansion and Garden Stuff
Favorite Expansion and Stuff Pack: Seasons and Glamour Life.
Sim Stories: Sim Stories and Sim Pet Stories. Stopped with the stories after Pet Stories since it never ran on my machine. Castaway Stories looked very interesting but not will to take a risk for another game that might not run on my machine.
Sims 2 Thoughts:  Squinge my favorite modder has returned and once the Servo looking like humans is updated Free Time and Apartments here I come.
Sims 3 Thoughts: In 2009, will be upgrading to a brand new gaming rig. Will spec it over the Sims 3.  I am looking really forward building it.
Overall Thoughts:  I still plan on purchasing the Sim 3, but maybe not right away. Also very glad I passed on Spores, learned my lesson after Sim Societies and Pet Stories.

Talents: Home Crafter and BodyShop
Interests: Into gaming a lot, surfing the net, building things, and playing muscial instruments.
Games: Simulation type games that allows me to build things like Caesar 3, ANNO 1503 AD, Railroady Tycoon 3 etc... My first Maxis game was like Sim City in 1995 on the Commodore 64 computer. My parents got the computer at a garage sale. Thank goodness the computer died in 1998.  It took like five minutes to load, the graphics were terrible, but back then we really thought it was state of the art. Thank goodness, computers have evolved and so has gaming.  The Sims 1 was good, but really more into the Sims 2 especially because we can do a lot of building, where with the Sims 1 we were very limited.

Favorite Expansion and Stuff Pack: Apartment Life and Teen Style Stuff
Sim Stories: None
Sims 2 Thoughts:  Waiting for Bon Voyage to go on sale.
Sims 3 Thoughts:  It has been confirmed my old 2002 p4 will not run the Sims 3. Would require a new computer to play the game. The Sims 2 cost a lot of dough as the years went on to complete. The Sims 3 will cost even more. Also not so interested in starting with a stripped down game again. It like took a long time to get great features. Like I hear the Sims 3 might require an internet connection to play the game on the computer you actually play the game on. Here rumor about included advertising in the game while connected to the internet. I do not have internet. Also limited number of installs? Not very cool.
Overall Thoughts: The Sim 2 series will be the last game for me in this series. Its time for me to find more affordable gaming that does not require an at home internet connection.

Interests: Modding, gaming, athletics, and  CSI type tv shows.
Games: Any CSI game, and Simulation type games. The first Maxis game was Sim City on an old 286 laptop. Was an object maker, recolor maker, and skinner for the Sims 1 game. Currently playing the Sim 2 and making modded objects, mod updating, and object recolors, to match my gaming tastes.  Dabbled some in  bodyshop and Homecrafter  to add my own  tastes to the game.

Favorite Expansion and Stuff Pack: Apartment Life  and Mansion and Garden Stuff
Sim Stories: Pet Stories - It never ran from day one.
Sims 2 Thoughts:  Sims 2 collection is complete through 2008. We see what 2009 offers if anything.
Sims 3 Thoughts: The modding community is what makes the Sim games worth playing. They fix the bugs, fix annoyances, add new features, and some very talented modders have even changed certain aspects of game play. What made the Sims series stand out was the many ways you could adapt the game to your own gamestyle. If I had to play it vanilla style. I would have moved on to other games very quickly. With that said, my plan is to buy the standard edition of the Sims 3 and join the community in finding and creating solutions for game play. Like all business ventures, if the game does not live up to my standards and expectations; I will cut my losses early and move on to other gaming ventures.

Since this game will no doubt come with mandatory unwanted third party software.  I love my gaming rig way to much to inflict that kind of abuse on it. No slower frame rates or unwanted programs or cpu intensive programs on my machine. Its a gaming rig overclocked to the max to scream through games. One of the advantages of being a university student, people throw away computers and computer parts all the time. For the past three months, I have been collecting their unwanted discards to build a very special gaming rig made especially for all EA based games. My only cost for this computer will be to purchase an XP Home operating system.

Overall Thoughts:  Plan on running the Sim 2 through 2010 or until I develop a new interest. Whether it will be the Sims 3, only time will tell.
