Ivonar's Other Pokémon
Char was given to Ivonar by Professor Oak. A stubborn, sometimes temperamental Pokémon, Char dislikes that Ivonar hasn't used her much in battle thus far. She is capable of at least Ember and Flamethrower, and feels her trainer ought to put that to better use.
Pidge was the first wild Pokémon Ivonar caught. Though burned by the Flamethrower that led to his capture, he still fought viciously against the Beedrills, Gusting them down for Manx and Ro to attack. He was sent to Professor Oak when she chose to use the Poliwag she had just caught against Brock's Pokémon.
When Remmy and Ivonar came across a trio of Spearow in Viridian Forest, they each managed to capture one of them. Ivonar's, whom she dubbed Ro, is a fierce-tempered bird who likes to get her talons dirty. She was ecstatic when Ivonar had to stave off the Beedrill nest, and attacked viciously, beating enough of the enormous bugs to evolve to Fearow. Although her level was higher than that of her trainer, she respected that Ivonar would take on such a vicious opponant, and has yet to cause her trouble. Of course, that may be because Ro has yet to lose. Her willingness to obey may be curbed should she see defeat.
Ivy
On the first day of their Pokémon journey, Ivonar spotted a Caterpie, which Remmy caught using Saurus's Vine Whips. They argued over whose it was - Remmy insisted it was Ivonar's because she had seen it first, but Ivonar refused, saying because Saurus had beaten it, it was Remmy's. Ivonar finally gave in when Remmy almost let it go. The Caterpie was later traded for Mollie the Marril, and named "Ivy", after Ivonar. Ivy seemed far happier with the name than Ivonar ever was. Ivonar's and Ivy's parting was easy, as the two had spent barely any time together.
Like Manx, Rahta was attacked by a far stronger fire Pokémon who didn't play by the rules, costing him a chipped tooth and a whisker. He later found that it also cost him his mate and children: obviously aware of the battle, his mate had collapsed their nest and taken their children away. By the time he returned to the place, their scents were too old to follow. He swore to allow Ivonar to train him, to make him strong enough to win when - not if - he came to face that fire demon again.
When Ivonar rashly tried to steal a Kakuna from a Beedrill's nest, she succeeded. When it evolved to Beedrill, no one could think what to name it, so it was still called by its previous evolution. The Kakuna respects its trainer for going through so much to get it, but is happy simply to remain at Professor Oak's with the other Beedrill there.
When the Viridian City Pokécenter blew up, it was decided to put some of the Pikachu up for adoption. Ivonar got a grumpy, older Pikachu with a foul temper, as it was the only one who agreed to be taken and never see battle.
Remmy gave Ivonar the second of the three Magikarp he fished out of the river in the Viridian Forest. It was sent immediately to Professor Oak with only a name and a wave goodbye.
When Remmy fished Drake and three Magikarp out of a river, he also brought out a Poliwag. As Static seemed to like it, and since Remmy refused to capture it, Ivonar did instead, sending it to Prof. Oak since she already had six Pokémon. Grumpy to have been sent away rather than kept for battle, the Poliwag got into a fight with a Butterfree, winning the battle and gaining enough experience to evolve to Poliwhirl. Soon afterward, he was recalled to Ivonar to help battle for her Boulder Badge. Already annoyed with her, he became angry when she chose to give him the horrible name "Tagalong". He refused to listen to her. A trip to Old Farley's helped explain the problem, and, given the chance to name himself, he did. Poe now respects Ivonar as a good trainer, and appreciates that she admits to her mistakes and will let him have his head if he wants to. While easily offended, he is generally pleasant. He gets along well with other Water Pokémon in particular, and has taken it upon himself to teach Nuisance water attacks.
Ivonar and Remmy each caught a Zubat while going through Mount Moon. Both Zubat were sent immediately to Professor Oak. Though they considered using them to help them explore Tier Canyon, they decided not to.
Con is a self-centered, cruel-tempered Pokémon who looks out for himself. He takes pleasure in using his power to humiliate or frighten weaker Pokémon, a pastime that backfired when a Confusion attack affected him as well. Panicked by this unexpected irony, he tried desperately to teleport to safety, thinking another psychic Pokémon was about to do to him as he had done to the odd ground Pokémon he'd come across. Instead, he teleported into a human's arms. Desperate to keep himself from harm, he partially bonded himself to the human, using her unaffected mind to help clear his own. Finding her to be psychically suseptible, he chose to use her to his advantage: he could allow her to carry him during his many hours of sleep, keeping him safe from other Pokémon. This plot also backfired, however, thanks to an unlikely rival: the girl's Psyduck. Dismissing the addled bird as only a secondary psychic, he was shocked to find himself far outmatched. Even worse, he found himself fully bound to the girl, so that now, force of will determines who controls his abilities - not psychic power. Worst of all, he was trapped in a pokéball, the freedom he took for granted cut off completely.
The last that was heard of Con was that he was sulking in Professor Oak's lab. There is little doubt that he holds a grudge against those who stole his freedom, and no telling what he might do if he gets the chance for revenge.
