TESTIMONIAL'S
Comet Windmills
Catalogue No. 8
1930

'Yarran', Warialda. NSW.
Aug, 23, 1929.

The 18ft. Comet 'C' Pattern Windmill I purchased in 1922 has been working constantly at a depth of 270ft.
with a 2 inch pump. It has given utmost satisfaction, and has not cost one penny for repairs during this 7 years.
I have also had experience with the 'D' Pattern Mill, we installed an 18ft., together with Bore equipment, 12months ago.
This Mill is also most satisfactory, and I consider, that on average, its capacity for raising water is equal to the 'C' Pattern.
In conclusion, I would mention that, so far as strength and workmanship are concerned,
the 'Comet' Windmill in my opinion stands on its own.

Australian Pastoral Co. July,1929.

I have returned quite recently from 'Authoringa' Station ,Charleville, QLD, and feel that a few remarks
with respect to the 27ft. Comet Direct Acting Mill you supplied to my company on 'Authoringa' will interest you.
This Mill was the largest size made at the time, and I think you requested me to allow you to exhibit it in
the Brisbane Show, before sending it to 'Authoringa', I remember it attracted a lot a attention at the Show.
The Mill was designed to work an 8inch pump, lifting water from a depth of 80ft., and it gave the utmost
satisfaction, and you can understand the flow from it was like an artesian bore stream. The Mill has now
been working for past 17 years continuously and you may be pleased to know without any repairs, to my mind,
and I have no doubt it will continue to do this work for many years to come. So much for this particular Mill.

I have purchased several of your Mills prior to this and was satisfied with them in every way that I have continued
buying Sidney Williams 'Comet' Mills, and no other make, year after year, up till present. I have purchased 101
of your Mills in all, and they have done their work satisfactorily with quite a minimum of maintenance in all parts
of Western Australia, and in Queensland from Cloncurry to St George.

By the way, I have discovered a new type of Mill you are now making which you call a 'Comet' 'D'
Pattern, and I congratulate you on several improvements in this Mill,
particularly in the accessibility of the bearings, and the eliminating of the movable crank.
I have no hesitation in saying that, in my opinion, these are 'improvements', and I feel that your
customers will be more than ever pleased with Sidney William 'Comet Mills'.
