RUN-OFF
Phosphorus and nitrogen are by-products of agricultural fertilization. When runoff from farms seeps into the Everglades water system, it causes unnatural eutrophic conditions. Currently, there is a phosphorus pollution limit in the Everglades of 20 parts per billion. However, this limit may still be too high. Restoration efforts would help reduce the phosphorous pollution level. (1)
